Construction

Back in 1945, there were approximately 36,000 war refugees living in the Oksbøl camp. They were primarily women, the elderly and children. In the same area in Oksbøl, FLUGT was born. BIG was responsible for the lines and several other skilled consultants were involved. Including the engineers. The construction management is Nem-Byg, which has several subcontractors associated with the project.

The lighting system

Lumega has been responsible for a large part of the lighting for the project. Including specially developed LED strips, aluminum rails, general lighting for toilets, corridors, depots, kitchens and offices. The lighting has been most challenging in the museum area itself. Here, Lumega has provided the indirect lighting with LED strips, which required a special design due to the light sources being used as emergency and panic lighting. Lumega provided a certificate that was required before the LED strip was approved for this purpose. There has also been an extra focus on eliminating flicker and keeping the light quality high.

Lighting for museums

Lumega's expertise in museum lighting. The most important thing about museum lighting for Lumega is that the art should always be in focus. We have many different spot lighting solutions, but also wall washers that ensure a diffuse and even light level throughout the painting. Where Lumega particularly stands out is our ability to customize lighting solutions.

Lumega hasn't delivered to many museums, but the ones we have delivered to have all been a great success. At Lumega, we make sure we gather as much knowledge as possible from the museum director and then start by studying the artists' works in detail. Here we can track down tones, shapes, etc. This puts us on the right track to create the best lighting for the works that will enter the specific museum. If you're facing a renovation or new build, light is exceptionally important. Without the right lighting, all art will not be produced as the artist intended.
