Modernization and school expansion of Højboskolen. This is a comprehensive project where learning spaces, common areas and classrooms are just some of the areas that the school will open up in 2023. The team behind the overall project is NERD architects with COWI as the qualification process. The project runs in stages and is scheduled for completion in 2023.
With the new extension, Højboskolen will become a large school with everything from beautiful bright classrooms, communication rooms, common areas with beautiful decor. The extension is completely new construction and the renovation will take place during the same construction period, which runs over 3 years (2020 - 2023). The project has been featured in a number of media due to its size and the ambitions for the school to be seen as a gathering point for many new and existing students.

The lighting system
Lumega has been responsible for the majority of the lighting for the project. The extensive installation will include our energy-efficient NS60 LED luminaire, which with integrated smart sensor technology ensures significant energy savings compared to fluorescent lamps. With Lumega's solution, the lamps talk to each other and maintain the required lux level. They take care of measuring the amount of daylight. In addition, we have included wireless push buttons in the delivery that can communicate directly with the lamps' smart sensor system. It is important for Lumega to have a close dialog with the electrical contractor to make the installation of the lighting fixtures as simple as possible. Therefore, in this project we have included the Winsta Wago plug and have our factory install it. This saves the electrical contractor significant time during installation and keeps the numbers black on the bottom line. Lumega will deliver almost 800 luminaires in three stages.
Lighting for schools
There are many older schools in need of new lighting. The older fluorescent tubes can interfere with student concentration. With the latest LED technology and optimal control, Lumega can improve the well-being of students and teachers while significantly increasing comfort. It has been proven that with the right lighting consisting of circadian lighting, a work efficiency of up to 19% can be achieved. This also means that concentration levels increase significantly.
