About Construction

The striking and beautiful new district in Silkeborg. Søtorvet comprises 286 rental homes and a number of commercial leases. The building is designed by C.F. Møller and constructed by NRE Danmark. AP Pension is the developer. The project is a Nordic Swan Ecolabel building. This places high demands on the materials.

Construction started back in 2019 and the next stages began in 2022. Søtorvet is located on the site of the old paper factory. It is a distinctive new district with rental housing and commercial leases. The project is expected to be completed in 2024, but several people have already moved into their new rental homes.

The lighting system

In close collaboration with the consultant and electrical installer on the project, Lumega has delivered a complete lighting system consisting of basic lighting for the stairs and parking area. This is the popular NS59 basic luminaire with high energy efficiency and NS43 ceiling LED luminaire. Both solutions deliver a very high energy efficiency, which among other things has ensured the high requirements for Nordic Swan Ecolabeled construction. The building is still under construction and more pictures will later be posted online under this case story.
