The new parking garage in Roskilde, close to Musicon, is innovation at a high level. It combines the raw look with containers and rust in a combination that has rarely been seen before. In addition to housing cars, the parking garage will also house a so-called Street Cave.

About Musicon P House

It can house 240 cars and 12 motorcycles. The parking garage is built in a sustainability class that has rarely been seen before. It uses recycled materials. All elements can be disassembled and reused. The same goes for the container sides and panels, which are recycled. In addition, the municipality has used several building materials from previous construction projects in the municipality. In other words, residual materials that could be safely reused in this new building. The parking garage was inaugurated at the end of 2021.

The lighting system

As with all other building materials, high demands were placed on the lighting system. The focus here was on a light quality that is rarely seen in parking garages. However, it was also a requirement to keep energy efficiency at a maximum. This put Lumega in a difficult situation. After several dialogs with the major LED manufacturers, we managed to reach an agreement with Samsung. In the project, we have achieved an extra high energy efficiency with a color rendering of CRI90+ This combination not only gives a good score in a sustainability program, but it also helps create a welcoming atmosphere in the parking garage.

Lumega has equipped the NS59 luminaire with intelligent control. The controls can communicate with each other. This way, cars entering the parking garage will be detected and this detection is passed on to the other luminaires. These raise the brightness and dim again when the movement has stopped. This way, the lighting system is only used when there is activity in the parking garage. The energy consumption of the lighting system is therefore as low as possible. This energy consumption has also helped them score extra points in their energy reporting.
