Court Theater

With its 250 years, Hofteatret is one of the oldest theaters in Denmark. Therefore, it is an honor for Lumega to be part of this renovation. Many different professional advisors have been involved in this project. Everything from lighting designers, architects and consulting engineers. The solution will also speak for itself once the entire lighting system is installed. The hip theater is expected to open its doors at the end of 2022.

The Court Theater is located in the first part of Christiansborg Palace near the royal riding arena. Gerti Axelsen, Deputy Director of the Danish Agency for Culture and Palaces, says about the project: "The theater is a listed building, and therefore it will be a careful restoration that we are now embarking on. We are preserving and conserving the beautiful fixtures and fittings while improving the technical installations so that the theater hall will function optimally in a modern context." The project involves lighting designers from Theloveoflight, Lundqvist Tegnestue, Maali & Lalanda and Ramoll as a total consultant. The project's electrical contract is handled by SIF Gruppen.

The lighting system

Lighting at the hip theater consists of many different lighting concepts. All the lamps had to be carefully approved before they were produced. Special attention was paid to light quality, dimming intervals, lamp designs and, not least, their light distribution. Lumega was responsible for a total delivery for the project consisting of wall washers to light up ceilings equipped with drivers that could dim down to 0%. In addition, surface-mounted spotlights and surface-mounted luminaires were delivered. Other lighting concepts such as track spots in a special retro theater design expression were also delivered by Lumega. The lighting project was completed from lou mega when we also got the remaining lamps approved for the renovation. among these lamps are everything from panel lighting in specially designed dimensions and linear lighting fixtures lacquered in black.

Lighting for theaters

Lighting for theater projects is not something Lumega normally handles. With this project, however, we have proven that such tasks can be done. Specially manufactured lighting solutions provide a high probability that we can handle lighting tasks for other theaters around Denmark and elsewhere in the world.
