Dragør municipality launched one of Denmark's largest single lighting energy renovation projects in 2020. A total tender for the energy renovation of 15 buildings in collaboration with Ramboll as the client consultant. The project was put out to functional tender and the electrical contractors were responsible for detailed design in collaboration with lighting suppliers. Lumega bid exclusively with the cooperation of A & H El Teknik A/S from Brøndby. In a close strategic collaboration, Lumega succeeded in winning the million-dollar project.

Lumega bid exclusively with the cooperation of A & H El Teknik A/S from Brøndby. In a close strategic collaboration, Lumega succeeded in winning the million-dollar project.
Dragør Municipality's building stock contributes to several different functions. There are various daycare centers, schools, sports facilities, clubs and other communal spaces for residents in the municipality. Back in 2019, Ramboll, in close dialog with Dragør Municipality, reviewed selected buildings that fell within buildings with excessive electricity consumption on lighting. In some of the properties, the lighting was installed from the construction of the buildings. This also meant that some of the replacements were low-hanging fruit for a very positive energy optimization. Ramboll selected the buildings that were most in need of energy optimization. The energy savings potential was looked at in terms of CO2 savings and payback time. The following 15 buildings were selected for inclusion in the functional tender.

Lighting systems
Lumega was responsible for the complete lighting package for the project. The collaboration with A & H El Teknik A/S took place in close strategic cooperation. With a complete detailed project planning including complete lighting calculations, data sheets and tests that reflected Ramboll's requirements, it was a positive outcome. The lighting package consists of everything from our NS60 panel in a high energy efficient version, ceiling wall and ceiling lights, with built-in intelligent sensors. In addition, there were several line luminaires, pendants and larger luminaires for lighting the larger rooms.
Lumega was in close competition with 7 other lighting suppliers. This meant we had to go through some extraordinary procedures to win the project:
- Strategic collaboration with the electrical company so we didn't send our quote to others (requires transparency from both parties)
- Products that met the Ramboll tender specifications and verification could be approved
- The price, where Lumega was over 950,000 DKK cheaper than the most expensive lighting supplier
- Complete professional lighting planning with lighting calculations and electrical design
The outcome of the above meant that the electrical company was DKK 3,600,000 cheaper than the most expensive electrical contractor who bid on the project. The winning electrical contractor who collaborated with Lumega was over 600,000 DKK cheaper than the second place. There were a total of 6 electrical contractors who bid on this project.
