Arc Parktien
If you're a garbage collector in the Copenhagen area, there's something to look forward to. The new large building being constructed by ARC offers many facilities. The new facilities being built at Parkstien 12 in Valby will be offices, crew facilities, a car wash and a workshop building. In addition, there will be a very large outdoor area for parking and charging the waste collection trucks.

Construction
The project is a turnkey contract consisting of C.C. Brun Entreprise, Oluf Jørgensen A/S Consulting Engineers and We Architecture. Together with the client, the team has created the framework for the new innovative building. In addition to the great facilities that employees will be greeted with, the building will be bursting with energy-efficient solutions. The circular economy and other energy-efficient initiatives have resulted in the building being constructed with 30% recyclable material. This, along with the additional energy-efficient lighting, means that the building is now in the process of being screened for DGNB Gold certification. This is the second highest ranking for an energy-efficient building.

The lighting system
Lumega is responsible for the complete lighting package for this large construction project. Inside, there has been a strong focus on lighting for offices, truck washrooms and large common areas. The goal was to keep energy efficiency as high as possible. The largest item in the project was exterior lighting. Here, there were specific requirements for a lux value above the prescribed level. This presented Lumega with some challenges. We had to keep energy consumption low, but at the same time we had to achieve 30 lux across the entire space. When you have a large space and you don't want dark areas with little regularity, you're in for some long days of lighting calculations, which eventually came to a head. The outdoor lighting system consists of 10 meter masts with large street lighting fixtures. It has been a necessity to use a lens in the front of the lamp, which directs the light to the right place with minimal light loss. In addition to masts, park lamps, wall lights and bollards have been used. The entire lighting project is on the larger end financially and despite price increases, Lumega and the electrical contractor found a reasonable solution that the client and consultant approved.
Lighting for large spaces
Large spaces can be challenging to illuminate. Today, there are several different lighting fixtures that can handle the very tall masts. This project includes 10 meter masts, which can be an advantage if you want to create a good evenness in the lighting. However, there are many different types of masts and Lumega can provide lighting for masts up to 35 meters high. Take our advice the next time you need to go up in height. The contract above includes many different lighting scenarios. At Lumega, we have the skills, the IT system and the production to handle these big cases and meet your deadline.
Lumega is always ready with the latest LED technology for your construction project and with 10 years of experience in construction lighting, we can help with everything from professional design, planning and optimization in relation to energy efficiency, control principles, etc. All while respecting the existing electrical installation, so the smallest interventions must be made.
