LED lighting in Kenya

Business trip to Kenya

To be honest, few people associate Africa with LED lighting. However, the African market has proven to be very attractive to us at Lumega, which is why our CEO, Rune Larsen, visited Kenya last week.

When Rune travels on business, he usually goes to a European country. In addition, he regularly visits the United Arab Emirates and several Asian markets. However, we have never visited Africa, but this trip will not be our last. Several of the African countries have huge potential and there seems to be endless possibilities when it comes to LED lighting.

This time, Rune traveled to Kenya, or more specifically the country's capital, Nairobi, where he stayed for three days. Nairobi is Africa's fourth largest city with more than four million inhabitants, and overall Rune was pleasantly surprised by the opportunities we seem to have in the country. Kenya's national motto translates to something like 'let's work together', and this was very much in line with what Rune experienced. People were very welcoming and eager to help. This resulted in nine meetings with architects and potential distributors, all of which went exceptionally well. We had booked the meetings through the Danish Embassy in Kenya, who established the contact and sat in on the meetings.

As always, the trip was documented through several of Rune's lenses, resulting in a vlog with some amazing footage. If you don't already, be sure to follow Rune's vlog, the Entrepreneur Behind the Scenes, so you don't miss Rune's upcoming videos.
