About Øresund Strandpark

The owners' association Øresund Strandpark is designed as a park development and consists of four angular building blocks of up to seven floors. Designed by architect Henning Larsen, the entire development, which is set to be completed in 2019, will provide a total of 42,000 m2 of luxury housing. In close collaboration with the Swedish developer Fastighets AB and client advisor COWI, Lumega had the honor of delivering the lighting solution for the beautiful buildings in Copenhagen S.

As a new building located in the modern area of Øresund, it was obvious that the light sources had to be the latest LED technology.

While neither we nor the developer can decide what kind of lighting the many new residents of Ejerforeningen Øresund Strandpark should have in their apartments, they may be influenced to use LED light sources when they see the exclusive solutions in their hallways.

Because exclusivity is the focus of this lighting solution. The latest LED technology is combined to create a clean and cohesive look across the four apartment blocks.

Challenge

The challenge at Ejerforeningen Øresund Strandpark was to customize the lighting solution according to the client's wishes. It would undoubtedly have been both cheaper and easier to order a standard solution, which can be found in Stairways all over Copenhagen.

However, in close dialog with the client, it was clear that this was not going to be a standard solution. The solution had to give a look where all the lighting is coherent, with long linear luminaires that follow the length of the rooms. And the length of the rooms was the most challenging part of this project, as the luminaires had to be precisely aligned, so the linear luminaires had to be manufactured to the exact lengths.

Lighting solution

Choosing a luminaire for this project wasn't too complicated, however, as our NS50 is an exclusive linear luminaire that can be made to measure.

One of the most important characteristics of the NS50 luminaire for this project was that there are no darkspots. Darkspots would have ruined the feeling that the lighting was cohesive and continuous, resulting in a less exclusive look.

The longest luminaire delivered for this project was 4.2 meters, while in several places we have put two 3.2 meter luminaires together, providing 6.4 meters of continuous light of the highest quality.

This is not to say that the NS50 can be delivered in a maximum length of 4.2 meters - these were just the dimensions that fit the project. The NS50 has no upper limit, which makes it possible to customize the luminaire for your project.

If you need a similar lighting solution with a continuous row of light without darkspots, the NS50 is a great choice. We customize the solution to your project, in both length and width, so you get exactly the exclusive lighting solution you imagined.
