Humac
Humac is known for its chalk-white and open environments. With their straightforward design manual, they achieve uniformity in all their stores. The manual sets special requirements for the interior, but especially down to whether the product is located in the exact display space. Lighting is an important part of the design manual. Lighting creates the overall look of the store and helps to illuminate the products at the correct angle to minimize shadow effects, for example.
The collaboration
The process of working closely with Humac has been exciting for Lumega. Lumega has worked in close dialog for a few months and come up with a lighting concept that still meets their design manual, but both energy efficiency and economy are much better for Humac than with the previous lighting supplier from England.
Lighting concepts
Lumega has specially developed our NS50. The line luminaire is designed so that they can easily be joined together as one long line of light. In addition to this feature, we took a closer look at the wire suspension and the front glass, which was chosen for the lowest glare. Energy saving has been an important part. Here Lumega had to look at extra high-efficiency LEDs from Samsung. This has resulted in a very high lumen/Watt and thus the store can achieve the desired lux levels with much lower energy consumption than the previous LED solution. In addition to line luminaires, Lumega has been responsible for pendants above each display case. This is not a standard pendant. It was important to use the correct LED with a color spectrum that makes the products shine.
