The project
In connection with the optimization of the parking facility and common areas at Holmens Kanal, which belongs to Danske Bank's headquarters, the company wanted a new and energy-saving lighting solution.
The energy savings speak for themselves
When the parking facility at Holmens Kanal needed to be optimized, Lumega was given the task. Previously, the lighting solution consisted of older compact fluorescent tubes, which are neither energy-saving nor environmentally friendly. Lumega tailored a solution for Danske Bank's parking facility, where LED now plays the main role in the lighting solution.
After the new solution has been installed, Danske Bank has seen energy savings of 45% compared to the previous solution. At the same time, the company is experiencing an extremely short payback time of only one year and three months due to the large energy savings.
In addition, the light quality is significantly better with LED. The new solution also requires less maintenance, as the new LED light sources have a significantly longer lifespan. The old solution with compact fluorescent tubes had to be replaced after 8,000 hours, whereas the new LED solution can last 50,000 hours.
Common area lighting system
Common areas received a comprehensive renovation. This was a retrofit solution, where Lumega ensured that the buildings could make use of their older lamps and thus only need to switch to LED retrofit solutions including inserts with LED and LED bulbs and spots. The ease of replacement also meant the bank had a significant energy saving of over 80% and reached a payback time of less than 1 year. The math worked out quite positively on their CO2 savings after the replacement to modern LED lighting - which even though we are talking 2012, had a very good light quality. Today, 12 years later, the supply still shines.
Unfortunately, due to the security of the bank, it has not been possible to show additional images from the project.
