Lumega AI Retrofit
At Lumega, we have developed an advanced AI-based retrofit solution that makes it possible to upgrade existing luminaires to modern LED technology with minimal environmental impact. Our approach combines precision, sustainability and efficiency, ensuring an optimal upgrade of lighting systems.
Why choose Lumega AI Retrofit?
-
Intelligent recycling with precision
Our AI model analyzes and clones existing luminaires with 100% accuracy, eliminating the need for new cabinets, painting or transport to workshops. This significantly reduces the carbon footprint and preserves the aesthetics of the building. Unlike some of our competitors, we look at the entire process and include the CO2 impact for transportation, installer, production of LED inserts, but we avoid the heavy CO2 impacts like spray painting and sandblasting.
-
Simple and efficient installation
The retrofit kits are designed for easy installation directly into existing luminaires, minimizing downtime and installation costs. We can supply them to be plugged directly into 230V and with our Smart Lighting systems, the older luminaire can subsequently be controlled with wireless taps and smartphones. All components are CE marked, come with declaration of conformity, 3rd party independent light measurements, Dialux calculations, data sheets, inspection reporting and come with a 5-year warranty, ensuring quality and durability.
-
Proven savings
Our solutions deliver significant energy savings and improved lighting comfort. Many of our customers experience an ROI of less than 2 years, making the investment both financially and environmentally beneficial. In addition, Lumega provides in-depth reporting of the actual CO2 savings. This is in light of the impact if a new lighting fixture were to be installed rather than the sustainable approach where existing lamp housing is recycled. Reporting with full CO2 documentation is something you can use in your CSR reporting.
With Lumega AI Retrofit, converting to LED lighting is perfect.
As a Lumega customer, we take you through some very simple steps. Converting the older lighting with modern LED retrofit kits is the perfect way to reuse existing lamphouses but leave them equipped with the latest LED technology. At Lumega, we have developed an intelligent and efficient process that ensures precision, speed and sustainability in any LED upgrade. Here are the typical steps:
Send a few pictures of the lamp you want to upgrade
If the condition and quality meet our requirements, we need a lamp that we can scan. Our AI model collects precise measurements and identifies all technical details to ensure 100% fit.
Based on the scan, our AI model generates a unique retrofit design that matches the existing luminaire housings - right down to screw holes and fittings.
The LED unit is produced with integrated driver, cooling and desired control (e.g. Casambi). The unit is tested for performance, light quality and safety.
We always provide full documentation including CE marking, RoHS, 3rd party light quality measurement and retrofit documentation.
The solution is delivered as plug-and-play and can be installed in less than 10 minutes - often faster than changing to new luminaires. Naturally, we offer support and programming as needed.
Human Centric Lighting
Lumega Fusion integrates seamlessly into our AI-generated LED retrofit solutions, enabling intelligent and wireless control of existing luminaires. With the option of tunable white and advanced light scenes, users can enjoy dynamic light control where the color temperature is automatically adjusted throughout the day - from warm 1800K to cool 6500K or more. This creates optimal visual conditions and contributes to improved concentration, well-being and a more natural circadian rhythm, even in buildings with older ceiling systems and recessed lighting.
By combining our AI retrofit solution with Lumega Fusion, existing luminaires can be brought up to today's technological level - without the need to replace ceilings or luminaire housings. This makes the solution both sustainable and cost-effective. Installation time is minimal and the entire control system works wirelessly via smartphone or tablet. The user can easily adjust the lighting or let the system control it automatically with daylight sensors and motion sensors.
With zoning and customized programming, each building gets its own smart lighting system - and with Lumega Fusion for retrofit, the investment is far lower than a complete new installation. This makes it possible to bring smart lighting and human-centered lighting to many more schools, offices, care homes and institutions.
Lumega Fusion with AI retrofit is the most future-proof and sustainable way to upgrade existing lighting - with functionality and well-being in focus.
Successful Case
In collaboration with Danske Shoppingcentre, Lumega has completed a groundbreaking lighting project in Hvidovre C, where sustainability and technology go hand in hand. The goal was to reduce energy consumption and CO₂ emissions without having to replace the entire ceiling system - a task that was solved using Lumega's unique AI technology. By scanning the existing luminaires, a 100% fit LED insert was developed that could be quickly installed without interfering with the ceiling.
The new solution reduced energy consumption from 40W to 18W per luminaire - a saving of 56%, which increases to 72% with built-in daylight sensors. At the same time, the light level was raised significantly from 105 lux to 855 lux before being adjusted down to 250 lux for optimal comfort and energy consumption. The system was connected to Casambi, enabling intelligent control of the light via smartphone and tablet - without the need for additional cabling.
The project has resulted in a total CO₂ saving of up to 27 tons by avoiding the production and installation of new aluminum ceiling panels and luminaire housings. This clearly demonstrates how a retrofit with modern technology can be both an economically and environmentally strong alternative to traditional replacement. Lumega's solution exceeded all expectations and shows the way forward for sustainable renovation projects in retail.
FAQs
-
Lumega's AI model uses advanced image and data recognition to clone existing luminaires and design LED inserts with a 100% fit. This means we can reuse the luminaire housing and replace the old light with modern LEDs - quickly and sustainably.
-
Retrofitting with Lumega's AI model saves time, money and resources. You don't have to replace ceilings and run new cables. At the same time, the carbon footprint is significantly reduced and the solution meets modern requirements for lighting comfort and energy efficiency. The advantage is also that reporting can be used directly in CSR reporting for the company.
-
You send us images as a start and describe the quantity. From there, we need a lamp that we scan. The process then proceeds with a small pilot project to evaluate the solution.
-
Yes, we do. All our AI-based retrofit products come with a CE certificate, RoHS compliance, Declaration of Conformity and 3rd party light measurements. We make sure everything is documented and meets applicable EU regulations.
-
The cost of the sample is Euro 400, but this covers the pilot project, including all certifications. The price for the actual device when it is ready for production is much lower. We have had to add the start-up fee for everyone due to the high level of interest.
We won the Børsen Sustainable Case 2025
Luxega, our sister company, has just been named winner of the Børsen Sustainable Case 2025 - a great recognition of our joint efforts for greener solutions. The award-winning AI model used at Luxega is exactly the same cutting-edge technology we use at Lumega to develop sustainable and customized lighting solutions.
