Save energy: Illuminate your parking garage with LED

Thousands of parking garages around the world are illuminated with T8 lamps. The traditional fluorescent lamps were a great solution in their day, as they were incredibly cheap. However, T8 lamps have now been phased out in most of the world. They have a very short lifespan, which results in high maintenance costs and means that there will always be some fluorescent lamps that don't work in the parking garage and need to be replaced. Fluorescent lighting often results in a dark and gloomy parking garage and is not nearly as energy efficient or safe as LED lighting.

Parking garage with LED from Lumega

At Lumega, we offer new, future-proof LED solutions that are highly energy efficient and will improve both the light quality and user safety in your parking garage. It is important that the entire parking garage is properly illuminated, as in many cases it is full of customers who need to be able to move around safely in the parking garage. Therefore, good LED lighting is important, including lights on exterior walls and columns, as even lighting reduces shadows and eliminates dark corners.

Lighting is often not considered in the process of designing and constructing new buildings. It's only when the building is ready that lighting is considered. However, it can be beneficial to consider lighting early in the process, as LEDs in particular can create a good atmosphere and improve the mood of users when they enter the parking garage.

High user safety and great energy savings

With an LED solution, you can ensure a high level of user safety while saving energy by delivering just the right amount of light where and when it's needed. Unlike traditional fluorescent tubes that require a lot of maintenance, LED lighting requires minimal maintenance. The lifespan of LEDs is incredibly long and there are some really robust lights on the market that are perfect for use in parking garages.

When you switch to LED, you will experience significant energy savings and an improved environmental profile. An LED solution will lead to big savings on both your electricity consumption and your electricity bill.

Dimming is a feature that can result in additional energy savings. It's a good idea to install dimmable lighting in parking garages as it allows you to control the light and adjust it as you wish. However, we recommend that you don't use infrared detectors, as few people want to drive into a completely dark parking garage, even if the lights come on when they enter.
